Susanamasseyrevivalist.com Code of Conduct

Welcome to www.susanamasseyrevivalist.com. This website is owned and operated by Susan A. Massey, Revivalist, LLC and hosted by WIX.com. The website offers visitors Christian discipleship training and materials such as a blog, Bible study resources, books, and video presentations. It also provides a platform for contacting and following author and speaker Susan A. Massey, Revivalist.  By accessing or using the website, you approve that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Code of Conduct Policy.

As a Christ-centered ministry, we want to build a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all site Users, Visitors, Members, and Content Contributors. This Code of Conduct applies to all interactions on our site, including blog content and comments, site member user profiles, and contact form communications.

Susan A. Massey, Revivalist, LLC believes that people of different faiths and beliefs can respectfully present their differences and viewpoints in non-threatening and respectful ways that are informative without being harmful. A statement of one’s faith and beliefs should not be construed as a derogatory commentary on the beliefs and behaviors of others. Neither does listening to the viewpoints of others imply acceptance and agreement with those beliefs, it simply opens the door to tolerance of the choices of others. Susan A. Massey, Revivalist, LLC teaches that efforts to persuade others of the validity and advantages of our own beliefs in the context of our personal experience is acceptable if offered in good will for the benefit of others. We encourage civil discourse that increases mutual understanding and breaks down barriers between religious factions so all people can live together in peace.

Website User Community

The Wix members area offers its users the ability to interact with other users. If this feature is activated on www.susanamasseyrevivalist.com, site members with accounts can create a public profile that is visible to site members, and any public activity (such as blog comments or likes) will be visible to other visitors and users of the website. Anyone of any faith or belief system is welcome to join the site as a member. Site members who join for access to in-depth discipleship material, but who do not want to participate in the Wix member community, can opt-out of creating a profile in the user member area and not participate in publicly displayed activities.

Site members may post reviews, comments, likes and other content through the blog; and site members, subscribers, or visitors may submit suggestions, ideas, comments, questions, or other information through the site contact form, so long as the content is not illegal, threatening, defamatory, obscene, invasive of privacy, infringing on intellectual property rights, or otherwise injurious to third parties, and does not contain software viruses, political campaigning, commercial solicitation, or any form of "spam" or unsolicited commercial electronic messages. Content that expresses or supports personal religious viewpoints and is supported by references to sacred writings is allowable under U.S. laws protecting free speech and religious freedom, although such content may challenge societal and cultural norms, as long as it does not directly violate the rights of others as listed above.  You may not use a false e-mail address, impersonate any person or entity, or otherwise mislead as to the origin of content posted. Susan A. Massey, Revivalist, LLC reserves the right but is not obligated to remove or edit such content.

Acceptable Content

Susan A. Massey, Revivalist, LLC encourages the following behaviors when posting content on www.susanamasseyrevivalist.com and using the site contact form:

  • Civil discourse: the open, respectful exchange of ideas about matters of public concern that seeks to convey knowledge and promote mutual understanding. When discussing current events, avoid targeting specific political factions, platforms, or activities and focus on matters of religious or spiritual growth and development in response to cultural issues.

  • Be respectful: Treat other site users with kindness, patience, and empathy. Work collaboratively toward understanding differences, not to win an argument.

  • Communicate constructively: Disagree with ideas, opinions, or the merits of an argument using logic and evidence, rather than attacking the person who posted the content. Offer your own beliefs based on your personal experience and knowledge, rather than degrading or demeaning the beliefs of others.

  • Respect privacy: Do not share private or personal information belonging to others without their explicit consent.

  • Support trust and freedom of expression: Help create a safe space for others to freely express their ideas and learn from each other. Actively listening does not necessarily imply consent or agreement with beliefs you oppose; it opens the door to acceptance of the person sharing the beliefs, their freedom of choice, and their right to express an opinion.

  • Stay on topic: Keep contributions relevant to the purpose of the blog post, discussion, or comments of others; or the reason for contacting Susan A. Massey, Revivalist, LLC.

  • Be responsible: If you have concerns about the nature of a conversation that may indicate another user has violent tendencies, terrorist affiliations, or intent to harm themselves or others, feel free to reply to their comments with suggested referrals to help organizations and bring the post to the attention of Susan A. Massey, Revivalist, LLC Customer Support using the contact form at https://www.susanamasseyrevivalist.com/contact. You can also contact local law enforcement for issues that may require immediate attention if you know the affected geographic location, and Susan A. Massey, Revivalist, LLC will cooperate with local agencies upon receiving relevant requests for assistance. Be aware that Susan A. Massey, Revivalist, LLC is a small sole proprietorship that may not be actively monitoring all posts continuously, and may not be the first to read the post you see or understand its import if it comes from an unfamiliar cultural context. If you see something, say something. We are committed to the safety and protection of all of our site visitors and users.

Prohibited Content

Susan A. Massey, Revivalist, LLC prohibits behavior that harms the community. You must not:

  • Harass or bully: Engaging in personal attacks like name-calling, intimidation, exposure of personal information, or an attempt to stalk or discredit an individual are not allowed. Posts and comments that could be deemed as defamatory, libelous, obscene, harassing, threatening, incendiary, abusive, racist, offensive, deceptive, fraudulent, or encouraging criminal or harmful conduct are not acceptable.

  • Discriminate or use hate speech: Post content that attacks, demeans, harms, or rejects individuals or groups based on race, gender, sexuality, religion, disability, age, or nationality. Freedom of speech and expressing one’s own faith or opinions is fundamental to Christian ethics and legal protection in the United States. Quoting sacred writings like the Bible that may appear to denounce the behaviors or choices of individuals or specific people groups is generally not by itself considered hate speech unless it is accompanied by a call to criminal action, violence, harassment, personal attack, abuse, defamation, or intimidation against the targeted person or group that violates their safety and personal rights.

  • Post spam or malicious content: This includes posting phishing links, links that will download malware, unauthorized advertisements not approved by Susan A. Massey, Revivalist, LLC, or repetitive spam.

  • Impersonate or misrepresent others: Pretend to be a staff member, public figure, or another user to deceive the user community about who is posting a comment, or to hide one’s identity. Users shall not attribute the origin of any content they post to another person, without their prior explicit approval, with the purpose of portraying or humiliating any individual in a negative or disparaging light.

  • Share explicit or illegal material: Post sexually explicit content, graphic violence, promote self-harm, sell illegal or regulated goods, or advocate illegal ideals. Illegal sharing includes promoting violent and hateful entities such as terrorist groups or other organizations that threaten the safety and well-being of others.

  • Infringe on intellectual property rights: Post quotes, images, or links to free copies of other people’s protected works without determining ownership rights, giving credit, or obtaining permissions first.

Christian User Community

Susan A. Massey, Revivalist, LLC acknowledges that many, but not all, site visitors and users of www.susanamasseyrevivalist.com will have a Christian faith orientation. We understand that we cannot impose our beliefs on all users. However, we encourage our Christian users to agree to a higher standard of accountability for content posted on our website as an example of the truths taught in the Bible. Therefore, we offer the following guidance to our Christian user community:

  • Refrain from controversial topics that ignite arguments: “But reject foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they breed quarrels. The Lord’s slave must not quarrel, but must be gentle to everyone, able to teach, and patient, instructing his opponents with gentleness. Perhaps God will grant them repentance leading them to the knowledge of the truth.” (2 Timothy 2:23-25 HCSB)

  • Display the fruit of the Holy Spirit in your conversation: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” (Galatians 5:22-23 ESV)

  • Share the truth of the Bible with an attitude of love: “Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ.” (Ephesians 4:15 ESV)

  • Demonstrate compassion, mercy, and forgiveness: “Now finally, all of you should be like-minded and sympathetic, should love believers, and be compassionate and humble, not paying back evil for evil or insult for insult but, on the contrary, giving a blessing, since you were called for this, so that you can inherit a blessing.” (1 Peter 3:8-9 HCSB)

  • Honor Jesus with your response if verbally attacked: “But even if you should suffer for righteousness, you are blessed. Do not fear what they fear or be disturbed, but honor the Messiah as Lord in your hearts. Always be ready to give a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you. However, do this with gentleness and respect, keeping your conscience clear, so that when you are accused, those who denounce your Christian life will be put to shame.” (1 Peter 3:14-16 HCSB)

  • Support your beliefs with the Word of God: “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.” (2 Timothy 3:16 ESV)

  • Use positive, wholesome language that will uplift others: “No foul language is to come from your mouth, but only what is good for building up someone in need, so that it gives grace to those who hear.” (Ephesians 4:29 HCSB)

  • If you must confront sin, do so humbly for the purpose of restoration, not condemnation: “Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself.” (Galatians 6:1-3 ESV)

  • Focus on good, not evil: “Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable—if there is any moral excellence and if there is any praise—dwell on these things.” (Philippians 4:8 HCSB)

Enforcement and Reporting

  • How to report: If you see behavior that you believe violates this policy, please report it immediately by contacting Susan A. Massey, Revivalist, LLC Customer Support. We agree that we may not always have enough facts to evaluate and judge the accuracy and intent of comments, reviews, or other communications on our website, and for that reason we may require a legal order or sufficient evidence to honor content removal or take-down requests for allegedly false, inaccurate, slanderous, or otherwise infringing statements.

  • Our response: We reserve the right to review reported content and take action at our discretion. Actions may include:

    • Issuing a formal warning to the user.

    • Deleting offending comments or posts.

    • Suspending the member user account.
